Meet Our Staff

Kelly Arehart, Director
Mrs. Arehart graduated from The Ohio State University and has a Bachelors of Arts. She has many years of Early childhood teaching experience. She finds great joy in teaching and watching young children learn. Kelly loves seeing God work in each young child’s life as they learn and interact with the world. Kelly helps with VBS, teaches Sunday school, and travels to Haiti to work with preschool teachers and students. She feels privileged to work with the team of teachers and families and approaches each day with enthusiasm. Kelly’s family attends Northwest Presbyterian Church
Joy Pyles, Kindergarten Enrichment Teacher
Mrs. Pyles has a BS in Elementary Education from Taylor University and a Kindergarten Certificate. Before joining our staff in 2010, she had years of varied experiences educating children. She and her family served three years with Mission Service Corps in Puerto Rico beginning in 2003. Her passion for teaching, supporting each individual child’s potential, and encouraging them to grow in Christ is evident in the classroom. The Pyles family attends Dublin Baptist Church.
Barb Brown, 3 Year Old Lead Teacher
Mrs. Brown joined our team at NWC Children’s Center in August of 2008. She has a degree in accounting and is working toward an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development. Mrs. Brown has extensive in-service training hours in early education. She has a gift of encouraging young learners and finds great joy helping her students learn and grow. The Browns attend Northwest Chapel.
Amanda Morgan, Pre-K Lead Teacher
Mrs. Morgan is a graduate of Jonathan Alder High School and Penn Foster College with an associate degree in Early Childhood Education. In 2008 she joined the NWC Children’s Center team. Amanda teaches the three-year-olds with great enthusiasm and enjoys watching them begin developing skills that will ensure their success in Kindergarten. She accepts and loves each child as a unique and special gift from God. The Morgan family attends Northwest Chapel
Oralia Aakhus, Preschool Teacher Assistant
Oralia attended Western Iowa Tech. She assisted her family in the management of their family-owned restaurant in Sioux City, Iowa. Oralia has three children and was active in her community during their school years. She has volunteered with TWIG, Upper Arlington Schools, Joseph’s Coat, and Heart Food Pantry. She is currently a mentor for single Hispanic mothers at Vineyard Columbus. Oralia and her husband attend Upper Arlington Grace Brethren Church.
